Recently in association with the Freedom from Religion Foundation (the “Foundation”), a non-profit advocacy organisation based in Madison, Wisconsin, the Gregory Law Firm filed a lawsuit under the First Amendment against the Alabama Secretary of State. The lawsuit challenges a mandatory religious oath for registering as an Alabama voter. Alabama is the only state with such a requirement.
